Making Fresh and Easy Mediterranean Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce

So, today we are going to jump right into these awesome, Fresh and Easy Mediterranean Turkey Burgers with an incredibly easy traditional Tzatziki Sauce. I’ve created a quick step-by-step guide to help you be able to easily make at home.

The allure of the Mediterranean

Mediterranean food, with its focus on fresh ingredients, lean proteins, and liberal use of olive oil, offers a clean crisp taste and flavor. The same could be said for a turkey burger that has been given a touch of the Mediterranean, as it gives forth a lighter burger compared to red meat but equally succulent.

Why Turkey Burgers are In-Demand

Turkey burgers are one way many people today are trying to make their food healthier. With the Mediterranean inspiration, there also comes an interesting taste dimension. They often are chock-full of protein and still keep the fat content lower than some of their classic American burger cousins.

Making a Mediterranean Turkey Burger

The perfect blend of flavors makes for a flavorful Mediterranean Turkey Burger. A patty made from ground turkey, blended with ingredients such as onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and a garlic-herb paste composed of oregano or mint, would be able to add further taste to this sandwich. Feta cheese will offer some hint of sharpness, and some greens like spinach will be added in too as healthy options.

Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

Tzatziki sauce is famous for its cooling and creamy palate characteristics, a common taste in Mediterranean flavors. The sauce hails from the Ottoman Empire but brings in cucumber and yogurt that have been mixed with garlic and dill to complete the savory side of the turkey burger. If you are making the Tzatziki Sauce, prepare it by mixing Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and dill in a bowl. The main thing here is to strain the cucumber so your sauce thickens up and doesn’t become watery—it should be thick enough for the spoon to stand up, I read that on the interweb.

Burger Build

Assemble the Mediterranean Turkey Burger, using your chosen base and putting in a turkey patty and then slather it generously with tzatziki sauce. Sliced tomatoes, red onions, and greens sliced thinly provide freshness and crunch and serve as the best topping for this burger.

Sides to Suggest

Some garden-fresh leafy greens, grilled vegetables, and maybe a Greek salad that has a Mediterranean feel to it too, would all again fit perfectly as the accompaniment of Mediterranean Turkey Burger. My family enjoys a french fry, so these Crispy Baked Potato Wedges dipped in the Tzatiki Sauce are a fantastic companion to these burgers. A drink such as white wine or even a cucumber-mint mocktail would just be able to add that little extra finishing touch to the whole meal.

Dietary Parameters

In fact, these burgers are flavorful but at the same time offer reasonable health benefits. They have a high protein level since one can even include vegetable servings in them and are usually less greasy than beef burgers.

You can get the taste of the Mediterranean without going on that trip by creating these Mediterranean Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce. Happy Eating!
