Slow Cooker Garlic Ranch Steak Bites in Butter

Course: Appetizer, Main Course
Cuisine: American

Equipment

  • slow cooker

Materials

  • 2 pounds sirloin (any steak you have on hand, just remember not all steak is created equal. The cooking time should break down and tenderize most options) cut into 2 inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp ranch dressing seasoning mix
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 large onion chopped onion
  • 1 stick butter diced
  • 1 cup beef broth I use beef base, bouillon would work too
  • 5-6 cloves garlic chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak: Start by cutting the steak into bite-sized pieces. Trim any excess fat. Pat the pieces dry with paper towels to ensure proper browning.
  • Make the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped onion, ranch dressing mix, beef broth, salt, and pepper. Mix well to make sure all the seasoning is dissolved.
  • Combine: Place the steak bites in the slow cooker. Pour the prepared marinade over the steak pieces, making sure they are evenly coated. Gently toss the steak to ensure even distribution of the seasonings.
  • Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on the low setting for 4-6 hours or until the steak is tender. Cooking times may vary depending on the size of your steak bites and the specific slow cooker you're using.
  • Dish up: Once the steak bites are cooked to your desired tenderness, use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a serving dish, leaving behind any excess liquid. If you'd like, you can drizzle some of the remaining buttery sauce from the slow cooker over the steak bites for added flavor.
  • Garnish: Sprinkle chopped green onions and parsley over the steak bites for a pop of color and added freshness.

Notes

Other delicious options for your steak bites:
Serve as the main dish. You can pair them with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad.
I like to serve it over steamed rice and a little bit of Siracha over the top.
